The Tarbet Hotel

The Tarbet Hotel is an old style, 'proper' Hotel, overlooking Loch Lomond. The Loch is just across the road, with a large grassy area, access to the water and the jetty where boat trips go from. A grand entrance, revolving door and a big stairway. In addition to the bar and dining areas, the downstairs has a little lounge area, comfortably furnished, if you want to have a bit of privacy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a very spacious standard double, the bed was comfortable and the shower was very good (there's nothing worse than an 'eco' shower that just lets out a dribble!) The breakfasts were very good. Tasty sausages and bacon, nicely cooked scrambled egg. The evening meals were a bit limited in choice, but were good quality.

The staff were fantastic. The night reception was helpful getting us in at the end of a long day of traveling when things were going wrong, and made sure we were able to get a good meal. The food was phenomenal. The steak pie was out of this world: delicious, warming and filling. Incredible puff pastry top- so light! The beef was perfectly- and I mean perfectly- cooked. Gorgeous location across the street from the shore of Loch Lomond. Great towels.

Beautiful old property with Loch Lomond literally just across the road. Boat cruises go from there too. Great pool table, bar and restaurant area and super friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Looks like it is being renovated as new reception lounger area and newly carpeted lounge area and breakfast area also brought up to date. Good value for money menu. Great seating in bar lounge so easy to chat to other travellers.

This hotel is right next to the Loch, on Loch Lomond! Beautiful Scottish hotel, great facilities, very friendly staff. We felt very welcome here and had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was very good and worth adding to your stay. The room was of a decent size and was comfortable, with tea/coffee/kettle & biscuits. The bar area is really nice, plenty of seating and a pool table. I highly recommend this hotel and i will be staying here again in the future :)
